Every once in a while, I get pretty intense cravings for random things….sometimes it’s raw tomatoes, other times it’s potatoes, and most recently it was sriracha. If you’ve never had sriracha before, you have never lived!
Sriracha is a spicy red sauce made from chili peppers, vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt – it goes great with just about anything, in my opinion. Use it sparingly at first….it definitely kicks you in the mouth if you’re not used to it!
I especially love sriracha on raw veggies, so I knew I was going to make a salad to satisfy my craving. I went with a mixture of baby kale and baby spinach as the base, added some broccoli slaw on top, drizzled with a bit of olive oil, then topped with a swirl of sriracha and a pinch of salt and pepper. There’s really not much to this recipe – no measurements, no amounts. I just stick my hand in, grab some veggies, and put them in a bowl!
1.5 cups of salad mix (I used baby kale and baby spinach)
1 cup of broccoli slaw
1 TB olive oil
1-2 TB sriracha
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Using a medium sized bowl, add salad mix and broccoli slaw
2. Top with oil, sriracha sauce, salt and pepper
